Melodic midwestern alt-rock. No Limit was formed when young Madison, WI area musicians from Monona Grove High School and Columbus High School came together through the Madison Music Foundry.
Now independently writing, recording, and performing on their own, they're cutting their teeth in the Wisconsin live music scene.
No Limit released their first full length studio album, Close Call, on December 31st, 2025, and played it live in full at their first DIY No Limit New Year's Eve the same day.
Previously No Limit released their 3 track self-titled EP on February 2nd, 2025, after winning studio time at Madison's BlastHouse Studios, as the Runner-Up for 2024 Rockonsin competition.
The four-piece looks at artists like Deftones, Pixies, Nirvana, 311, and many other alt rock staples as influences in their heavy but melodic sound.
Vocals, Rhythm Guitar, & Harmonica
Who are your musical influences and current favorites and why?
My musical influences are Gavin Rossdale of Bush, Aaron Lewis of Staind, and Scott Weiland of Stone Temple Pilots because of their singing style and vocal ability. My favorite bands include Metallica, Bush, Staind and Green day.
Best concert you've ever been to and why?
The best concert I’ve ever been to was Metallica at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis because we had floor tickets, and were standing right where the band came out and got to give the four of them fist bumps.
Tell me the story of how you started playing music?
I started on drums at a young age playing music like the Beatles, Stones, and Johnny Cash. I slowly progressed to the guitar and was exposed to new music when I started lessons at the age of 6.
When you aren't writing, recording, or performing with No Limit what are your interests and hobbies?
When I'm not performing with I like to go golfing, fishing, and hangout with friends.
What's it like performing live?
Performing live is one of the greatest feelings with people being able to enjoy what you create through words and instruments and sing a long to known songs that we cover.
What are you most proud of so far, and what do you want to still accomplish in your musical journey?
I’m most proud of releasing our album and hosting a New Year’s Eve show and I would like to release another album before I go to college.
Lead Guitar, Backing Vocals
Who are your musical influences and current favorites and why?
My biggest musical influences include bands like Slow Pulp and Cage The Elephant, as well as artists like The Love Experiment. That said I am always trying to find artists I haven't heard yet
Best concert you've ever been to and why?
The best concert I have ever been to would have to be either Deftones at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee or Graham Hunt at the Memorial Union at UW-Madison. Deftones was so great because of the sheer power their songs have and Graham Hunt was just a show full of so many great Madison bands which made it quite fun.
Tell me the story of how you started playing music?
I started playing Cello in 4th grade school orchestra and took up guitar shortly after that. Right from the start all I wanted to do was write my own music which is why I'm so glad I decided to join a band.
When you aren't writing, recording, or performing with No Limit what are your interests and hobbies?
When I'm not doing music, I like to play soccer, rugby, and ski.
What's it like performing live?
Performing live just feels right. It's when everything you have worked for just comes together. It's a great feeling that I think everyone should try in some capacity.
What are you most proud of so far, and what do you want to still accomplish in your musical journey?
I am most proud of our creation of our first album "Close Call." This was all of our first times writing a full album and it was my first time producing an album and I think it came together very well. On top of this, we hosted our first DIY show as well for the album release on New Years Eve.
Huck on Bass
Favorite bands/artists:
I like listening to bands like the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rage Against the Machine, and Fugazi. I am also inspired by bass legends like Victor Wooten and Charles Berthoud.
Best concert I've been to:
My favorite concert I’ve been to was probably the Global Citizen concert at the Eiffel Tower in Paris including artists like Lenny Kravitz and HER.
When did you start playing music:
I’ve been playing bass since I was 9 years old and took lessons with Ken Fitzsimmons until I turned 12.
What do you do when you're not rockin':
Some hobbies I like include skating, programming, and running. I’m also involved in cross country and track and field.
Drums, Ukulele
Who are your musical influences and current favorites and why?
My current musical influences are the Barenaked Ladies, OK Go, and Soul Coughing. Their lyrics and musical styles inspire my own ideas for our lyrics and drum beats.
Best concert you've ever been to and why?
Best concert I have been to was Soul Coughing live at the Sylvee in Madison because of how good they sounded live, especially compared to their recorded music.
Tell me the story of how you started playing music?
I started playing drums at the age of 9 and got lessons soon after. I've always loved many different kinds of music and always wanted to learn to play them all. I now have taken on the challenge of learning bits of ukulele, guitar, and even a little bass.
When you aren't writing, recording, or performing with No Limit what are your interests and hobbies?
My favorite things to do in my free time is work on my own music and write stuff for myself. I also enjoy spending time with family and friends.
What's it like performing live?
Preforming live for me is one if the most fun things you can do just because I'm hanging on stage with friends, playing music that we wrote and love to play, and get to share that with everyone in the crowd. It's always a blast playing live especially when it's in front of big crowds.
What are you most proud of so far, and what do you want to still accomplish in your musical journey?
I'm definitely most proud of our debut album, Close Call, just because it's our first time fully self-producing and I'm proud of what I did for the lyrics and melodies, and my own drum parts. The whole album came together very well.
